PRODEV develops, manages and supports schools and centers in underserved communities. Our network is committed to accessibility, excellence and civic participation. We advocate locally and internationally to promote the idea that only education can create a stronger Haiti.

PRODEV was created in 1995 by founder Max Pénette, his daughter Maryse Pénette-Kedar, and Daniel Kedar. The late Max Pénette was one of Haiti’s iconic and highly respected educators whose belief in the rights of children to be heard and respected continues to serve as our guiding principle.

Maryse Pénette-Kedar serves as PRODEV’s Board President (Read Maryse Pénette-Kedar's short bio).

PRODEV is a non-governmental organization (NGO) officially recognized by the government of Haiti.

PRODEV USA Foundation, Inc. is its US-based arm and is a registered 501 (c) (3), making all US donations to PRODEV tax deductible.

Today, PRODEV manages two primary schools and provides teacher training and coaching support to two networks of schools throughout Haiti. We believe that child centered pedagogy, parent and community engagement, continuous teacher training and coaching opportunities are critical to preparing all of Haiti’s children for the 21st century.

PRODEV welcomes impactful collaborations with national and international partners.
